BIOTIC CONDITIONS

Rodents abundance evaluation:

low

Breeding conditions:

Arctic Fox was recorded only once, but Brown Bear was rather usial. Nest success of waders and other birds was high, as all found nests hatched and many broods were recorded. Birds nesting in floodplain suffered from the flood, caused by coincidence of rain and snowmelt in mountains in late July. Herring Gulls and Long-tailed skuas were not numerous, but definitely contributed to the loss of chicks in broods od waders, ducks, and passerines. In southern tundra were common Pacific Golden Plover, Pectoral Sandpiper, Ruff, Temminck's Stint, and Red-necked Phalarope; while forest tundra was inhabited by Golden Plover, Wood Sandpiper and Spotted Redshank. Everywhere Ringed Plovers were abundant, Bar-tailed Godwits - absent.

Rodent dynamics:

Rodent numbers were very low.
